I am excited to be speaking once again at the Christian Leadership Alliance National Conference.
The 2010 Conference was a huge success and I was fortunate to be part of it. I’m looking forward to the 2011 National Conference which takes place in Dallas, TX from April 26 -28, 2011.
Minister Online through Social Networking & Online Community
Next year I am co-leading a session with Chris Giovagnoni, the Sponsor Engagement and Social Media Program Manager for Compassion International. Chris and my session is called “Minister Online through Social Networking & Online Community“. The focus of the session is moving beyond the hype of social media and social networks to look at how ministries and churches can use the web to create real ministry impact.
Here’s the synopsis from the conference brochure:
Minister Online through Social Networking & Online Community
Ministries today are expected to be active participants in social media yet many face obstacles to implementing an effective strategy.
In this session we will present best practices, case studies and lessons from the experiences of Compassion International and other leading ministries on how to move from generating awareness to creating ministry results using social media.
After completing this course you will be able to:
1) Utilize web technology to create ministry impact,
2) Implement practical social networking and online community strategies to engage your audience and encourage them to serve, donate, and participate, and
3) Overcome organizational challenges to implementing a social media strategy.
It should be an exciting opportunity for us to work with ministries that are looking to use their Internet presence as part of their ministry strategy.
